After work: 60 minutes to get your body back in rhythm

A concise suggestion for busy gentlemen: a warm-up sauna, a body massage, and a moment of rest before heading home.

After work: 60 minutes to get your body back in rhythm

After work, many men head home with a stiff neck, heavy shoulders and a mind still busy with the day. A well-planned 60 minutes can help you shift gears more gently. This article suggests how to use that hour at the spa so it feels complete, sufficient and unhurried.

You do not need a whole afternoon. What matters is the order: warm the muscles, release the areas that are actually tired, then take a few minutes to rest before driving home. Each step below can be adjusted to the time you really have.

Why 60 minutes after work is worth it

A full day in front of a screen keeps your neck, shoulders and lower back in one position. Hours on the road load your calves and feet. The body remembers these postures. Without a break, the tension carries into the evening and even into your sleep.

An intentional hour is different from an hour scrolling on your phone. You leave your desk, change, drink tea and let someone else take care of you. The change of space alone is a signal to the body that it can rest.

Step 1: 10–15 minutes of sauna to warm up

A dry sauna is a simple way to loosen the muscles before a massage. When the muscles are warm, the therapist can work more easily. You also feel the pressure more clearly and tense spots hurt less.

Do not stay in too long after a tiring day. Around 10 to 15 minutes is enough for most guests. Drink a glass of water before and after. If you feel dizzy or uncomfortable, step out and rest straight away.

You can read more about the history and use of saunas in the Sauna article on Wikipedia. At Minh Tâm, the sauna is on the same floor as the massage rooms, so no time is lost moving around.

Step 2: 35–40 minutes of body massage on the right areas

The core of your hour after work is the body massage. Before the session, reception will ask where you feel most tired. Be specific: neck and shoulders, lower back or calves. Your answer decides where the therapist spends most of the time.

Also say how much pressure you want. Some people like deep pressure to release the muscles. Others only want medium pressure to relax. During the massage, just say if it is too strong or too light. The therapist will adjust right away.

If you only have an hour, the Body Massage package in a standard room is a good fit. For more privacy, the VIP room has its own jacuzzi and shower. See real photos and prices for each tier on the Rooms & Spa packages page.

Step 3: Rest 10–15 minutes before you leave

Many people skip this step because they are in a hurry. In fact, this is what makes the light feeling last longer. After the massage, sit quietly for a few minutes with warm tea or water. If you like, soak your feet in the jacuzzi pool or sit by the water garden.

Do not get up and drive off immediately. The body needs a little time to become fully alert again. Ten minutes of rest also helps you move fully into your evening instead of carrying the tension home.

How to prepare for a spa session after work

  • Have a light snack about an hour before; avoid a heavy meal.
  • Book ahead so you do not have to wait when you arrive.
  • Arrive 10 minutes early to change and have some tea.
  • Tell us in advance about any injury or medication.

Massage is a way to relax and does not replace medical advice. If pain persists, please see a doctor. General information about massage techniques is available in the Massage article on Wikipedia.
